Anonymous asked: So I am soon to be a wls patient, and I'm right around your height and weight. Do you have excess skin, because it doesn't look like it, you look absolutely fantastic. Did you workout a lot to combat the skin and what was your eating like? Sorry to bother, but you are just such an inspiration to me!
Yes, I do have excess skin. This is a very common question people ask me. Most of my weight was in my stomach, so most of the excess skin is there. With clothes on, you cannot tell at all. I did workout, but I don’t think it helped too much with the excess skin problem. What I did to lessen it is drink lots of water (water hydrates the skin which keeps the elasticity in it) and lotioned my skin two times a day with a skin firming lotion by Nivea. My eating is sort of like this.. I eat as if I’m a: diabetic-lactose-intolerant-vegetarian. lol. Can’t have sugar, milk, or red meats. I also abstain from breads and pastas and rice, anything fried or high in fat, anything very processed, etc. You could imagine what that leaves me with. -_- lol. And you’re not a bother! :]
Anonymous asked: another question.. did you have a lapiscopic surgery when they make like 7 small incisions...did your scars go away?
Yes I did. And yes, they faded significantly.
Anonymous asked: i have some post opp questions!!, did your hair thin out or fall out alot?. havey you drank alcohol after having this done if so can yo u tell me what it was like? and what did you do for an excercise rutine?
My hair did thin out a little bit. But it was already very thin and fine to begin with. I lost quite a bit of hair, but didn’t have bald spots or anything like that. Your hair does thicken up more over time as you get more of the nutrition you need and when your weight stabilizes. After about a year, it’s just fine again. :] And yes, I have drank alcohol. lol. You pretty much have absolutely no tolerance to it.. AT ALL. You get buzzed on one shot. Tipsy on two. And drunk on three. The downside is, you sober up very very very quickly unless you keep on drinking continuously. Within 10-15 minutes you’ll be sober again. But I don’t recommend you drinking at all because you do get sick very easily on a lot of drinks and end up throwing up almost every time. And if you don’t throw up, you’ll have a hangover for at least two days. It takes a lot for your body to recover from alcohol, especially since it dehydrates you so much and gastric bypass patients are easily dehydrated. Aaaand.. for exercise, I used to dance for 2 hours every day. But nowadays, I walk about 2 miles daily. I should probably do more than that, like lift or something because I have no muscle, but I can never find the time. lol.
Anonymous asked: Did you have/had stretch marks on the back of your calves/lower thighs? And if so did losing weight help their appearance? I have some pretty bad ones and I'm worried that even if I do lose weight I won't be able to wear shorts ever again and feel comfortable. Can you offer any words on the subject? Haha
I never really had stretch marks on my calves or lower thighs. I was always extremely disproportionate.. lol, and had little chicken legs with a bigass midsection. I mean, I have a few but they aren’t too noticeable. Overtime, all stretch marks do fade. I don’t know if the ones I had changed because of the weight loss or what, but the ones on my stomach that were very bad did fade significantly. But everyone’s body is different. Just make sure you drink plenty of water because that’s what helps your skin stay elastic and clear and heal up better.
